What we collect

• Your account. Your email address and a user ID when you sign up (email, Google, or as an anonymous guest). Authentication is handled by Firebase.
• Your content. The things you put in the app: bucket lists, goals, and memories (photos, captions, reflections, mood, place name, coordinates, dates) plus your profile (display name, handle, bio, avatar). Stored in Firebase Firestore and Storage.
• Precise location. Only when you attach a place to a memory — we read your coordinates to tag that memory and look up its place name. It's optional and per-memory; we never track your location in the background.
• Usage analytics. Which screens and features you use, tied to your user ID, via Firebase Analytics and PostHog. We use this to understand what's working and improve the app — it's our own first-party analytics, not advertising or cross-app tracking.
• Crash & diagnostics. Crash reports and performance data via Sentry, so we can fix bugs. In release builds this can include a session replay of screen activity to help reproduce errors.
• Reminders & notifications. If you allow notifications, we store a push token for your device (from Apple or Google, via Firebase Cloud Messaging), your time zone and language, your notification settings, and the reminders you set (goal, title, date and repeat). We use them only to send the reminders and nudges you asked for, in your own morning. Turn them off any time in Profile → Notifications or your phone's settings.
• “Ask your AI” import (optional). When you paste an answer from your own AI assistant to get goal ideas, the app reads it on your phone; the text is not uploaded or kept. Only if the app can't read it does it offer to send the text once to our server, and only after you agree. There, Google's Gemini model (Google Cloud Vertex AI, EU region) turns it into goal suggestions. The text is not stored, not logged and not used to train any AI; we keep only a daily usage count per account to limit abuse, deleted with your account. App Check confirms the request comes from our real app.

What we don't

• No advertising SDKs, no ad networks, no advertising IDs.
• No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
• No selling of data to anyone, ever.

Sharing

When you share a memory, we flip it to "public" in our database so the recipient can open it. You can delete the memory at any time, which also removes the shared link.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account directly in the app: open Profile → Delete account. This permanently erases your account, goals, memories, photos, reminders, and push tokens. Prefer email? Write to hello@dobefore.app and we'll remove everything within 7 days.
